Marketing Tip # 9 - Let's Go Green!
Making your company and your brand more environmentally friendly can add market share, cut costs and make your Financial Officer very happy.
Consumers have a difficult time correctly identifying green companies, often confusing “greenwashing” which is the practice of companies disingenuously spinning their products and policies as environmentally friendly, such as by presenting cost cuts as reductions in use of resources. It is a deceptive use of green PR or green marketing. The term “green sheen” has similarly been used to describe organizations that attempt to show that they are adopting practices beneficial to the environment for true green identification.
So to show true green behavior, it’s always a good bet to follow the mantra of "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to “greenify” the image of your brand.
Reduce the waste you produce:
Try not to buy over-packaged products, to save this from happening buy in bulk and buy refills and concentrates. Print double sided and remember to only print when necessary!
Re-use items before they become waste:
Reuse items such as cardboard boxes. Choose returnable or re-usable containers. Reuse a product as many times as possible. If you have no further use for it, find someone who does. Many charities welcome donations of unwanted gifts, clothes, furniture.
Recycle your waste – many waste types can be reprocessed into useful items:
Buy goods made from recycled materials. Separate waste into organic waste, plastic, glass, tin cans and paper. All these can be recycled into useful products.
Going green saves the earth, the environment, your health, the economy and increases your brand loyalty and customer base. Plus it just feels good!
