Ecover' Voted Most Trusted Eco-Brand
A survey of more than 900 readers of the Guardian and Observer has showed that just under half of those questioned have most trust in scientists to take the lead on climate change.
They were followed by non-governmental organisations with 31 per cent and governments with 13 per cent.
The Guardian Sustainable Index survey analysed public opinion on a range of environmental issues facing the country.
When asked to name the top three most trusted brands in relation to sustainability, natural cleaning products manufacturer Ecover came top.
Some 48 per cent suggested that they would be willing to switch brands for a greener alternative.
The Belgian company’s products are developed using raw materials from vegetable and mineral sources that are carefully selected and guarantee maximum biodegradability, according to Ecover.
The results of this survey coincide with the launch of Guardian Sustainable Business, which aims to help companies realise their social and environmental responsibilities.
